I live in Jefferson City and fish Binder Lake from my kayak. I've caught a 13 lb bass from there and it was an awesome fight.

Caught this bass with a spinner bait in my kayak here in Mid-Missouri it was in March of 2018, pretty sure it was the weekend before the 29th. It was only 36° out and the wind was blowing around 10 mph at times, water was really cold and so were my hands cause I did catch other bass as well, this one being the biggest one. Close to 7lbs if not more, didn't have any scales. Oh and I let her loose so maybe I'd get another chance to catch her again sometime.
Went with my son and he caught his limit of Crappie, all were really nice sized.
