Went to Goatrock yesterday. No bites until GA Power started generating electricity at 3 PM. I caught three small spots after that on steep rock banks. I went back upriver where I launched below Bartlets Ferry dam, hoping that the striped bass would be schooling in the current where I have caught bunches before. I got on my spot in an eddy against the Georgia side and had my Rapala/popping cork rig in hand when the siren wailed warning of more turbines firing up.
After that, the current was so strong and rough, that I doubt even the strong swimming stripes could hang with it. So, I called it quits and loaded the boat up, which was a tricky endeavor in that much current, and went to the house.

Sounds like a great day on the water. Any day on the water is a good day.

Nice catching Tim. Small ones are better than NO ones. Wow, that current really rips when they open those turbines. Fish would have to burn more calories than they could eat. I might try in the eddys close to the banks where they could get out of the main flow. Thanks for sharing.
