I looked at the radar all loaded with storms,
The lightning was keepin me home.
My worm was sure twitchin,
For me to go fitchin,
Providing me fodder for pomes.
I told my bud down at the dock I was comin,
He told me that I'd lost my mind.
The lightning diminished,
I fished til I finished,
And left lots of bass behind.
With sprinkles that dimpled the flat, glassy lake,
I truly enjoyed every cast.
I landed a few,
A nice one or two,
And had a cool snake slither past.

Excellent pome as usual Mike. All the wood in that pocket makes me drool 🀀. That's quite a size variety you reeled in. Glad you got out safely and avoided the lighting brother. Thanks for sharing. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

I do hope that you keep a record of all your poems. I can see a publisher being interested in them.
Enjoy the water every time you can. It makes me a little envious of you. πŸ₯΄

Sometimes I hesitate to pome about my fisheratin time. My wife has said, jokingly, "that's the same fish!". I do enjoy showing her the vague differences in each of em, as unique as we folks above water. Your kind words are like fuel to my pome'n fingers.

Y'know what? I don't keep track of em. I'm not a guy who'll say he's good at anything, but I s'pose I have a knack for pome'n. My bride has a stash of mushy ones from back in the day. She encourages me to do a blog or something that'd actually bring me a reward for what she calls talent. I wouldn't know how to do that, and since I'm opposed to actual social media like FB where are the nasty folks dump their spew, I'm kindy limited to hoping (privately) somebody would say "hey Mikey. Come pome for us!" Juan can hope, can't Juan? And by now ya gots to know my heart is full from living here. So full.

Thanks for the poem and the pictures.
You can keep that β€œAnaconda β€œ far away from me.

I'm glad you like my stuff. Snakes. I apparently have no fear of em. When I was probably 13, I remember swimming here in Roaring River at the "dam hole" with friends. A snake was swimming towards Wilda who started screaming, so I got all heroic and snatched it. Flung it away, but he did nip me for screwing up his journey. Felt like a wasp sting. That's all I recall about the bite, but I do remember Wilda bein very fond of me afterwards. Woohoo!

Big dang hug of gratitude and friendship, sir. Grabbed another opportunity to go fisheratin last night before this round of storms started. Super worn out from yard stuff, but fishin therapy is the best! I was blessed with some awesome nature stuff and several bassfolks. Have a blessed Sunday, my friend.

Can’t say I fear them, but I respect their space if they respect mine. I prefer a good distance between them and me.
