There is a summer run, however, the season is closed. Don't know if they are even goin to have one this year either.

Salmon Season will not happen this year on Sacramento River according to CDFW
The heck with the Salmon go after the Stripers that are in there now. Go up behind Calexpo and fish there with sardines or crawdads. Full moon fish at night with a pencil popper in the flat water ( slack ) areas. I would chase them all the way up to Nimbus fish hatchery. That spot is awesome early in the morning where the water pours out from the fish hatchery. You have to walk down to that spot really slowly and up stream from it , cast a SHAD RAP lure near where the water comes out and work it like a wounded fish with short jerks . If they are there you will know pretty quick. I used to call that spot my 3 cast hole, big 39+ pound fish will kill that lure.
Good luck.
