Picked up my boat from the dealership yesterday, the main shaft sheared 3 weeks ago, mercury sent a new lower unit. Now we are back at fort peck mt and ridding out another high wind storm.
Fished a few days in north Dakota and caught a few walleye ,king salmon and white bass
We caught one nice walleye and a lake trout yesterday at peck before the wind picked up and it looks like tomorrow we might be able to fish.
Thanks for the story plum.
It is truly humbling to think about the sacrifice that so many people have endure to protect the privilege of freedom we all enjoy.
God bless each and every one of them.
Impressive catch, enjoy and continued good luck
That's a nice bunch of walleye
Sounds like a great trip Mike, looks like the weather was good and the fish cooperated.
Fort peck lake in montana.
We pulled salmo cranks in 9 to 25 ft of water and 2.8 to 3 mph seemed to be the best.
This is a Coldwater system that mainly works early spring and late fall, as the water warmes vertical jigging is the preferred way but deep trolling with spoons can also be affective.
Good luck hopefully that will help
Trout have a very soft mouth, I have had many hooks pull, you may want to take a little bit more time landing the fish and also check your hooks and sharpen the points if nessissary .
Keep in mind that the photos were taken over several days .I threw in a few from before they arrived .
We might fish for 6 hours before catching the first fish, I'm definitely not complaining just adding a little perspective , we had an incredible time and it is a fun challenge to figure out a constantly changing fishery .
I have not tried them but they sound great and I believe you can return them if you are not happy.
Sharing knowledge like that is wonderful those fortunate people you helped will never forget you and your kindness and you probably added some lifetime fishermen to our group
Great work Andy
Another try one the photos
All are good moters but the Hondas I have been around run much quieter than my mercurys.
We had two great days of fishing with two of my sons here at Fort Peck Mt. At was a rough start as my outboard main drive shaft decided to snap in half and my youngest son volunteered to drive back to north Dakota and bring his boat.
Fishing was slow but we caught some great northern pike, walleye, lake trout and small mouth bass.
Three personal bests for me and two for one son.
Lakers to 13lbs, walleye to 9lbs, 14lb northern pike, 4.5lb small mouth bass.
I'm having some trouble with the photos loading but we will see how it works.
