I hit McDonough for 6hrs today. 60° at the ramp, and water was 65° - 66.5°. Steady breeze around 8-10 mph, with a few 15 mph gusts. Started off slow with a dink Smallmouth on a Keitech swimbait. All 3 of my favorite trees had a resident Snot Rocket hanging around scaring away the Bass. All 3 were about the same size, maybe 2 lbs each. I missed several Bass on beds, but didn't find many beds anywhere. The ledges were empty, but I did catch a 2.25 lb Largemouth on a Morning Dawn Dream Shot, in a hole off the brushpile. As I completed my lap of the lake, I caught the biggest of the day. Caught a 2.5 lb Largemouth on a Watermelon/red flake Dinger, under an overhanging tree. Not a great day, but not terrible.

Beautiful pics Steve and you weren’t skunked. I’d say the scenery was worth the effort alone! That water definitely looks dangerous, muddy, swift and cold……..

I tried standin in the edge of it and it hurt my feet. Soon I couldn't even feel them and had to back out of the water.
Just had on shorts and sandals.

Good morning and TGIF.

I don't really want to say it, but it's gonna RAIN again today.. Geezzz..
Its been impossible to accomplish anything outside this Spring.

58° now and a soggy high of 70°

I'll finish up some interior work today on a 3 unit install and then possibly a few service calls.

Mom's Trick

"Oh, I'm so happy to see you," the little boy said to his grandmother on his dad's side. "Now maybe mom will do the trick she has been promising us."

The grandmother was curious. "What trick is that?" she asked.

"I heard her tell daddy," the little boy answered, "that she would climb the walls if you came to visit us again.

Have a great day!!

That's exactly why you ALWAYS need to be careful what you say around little ones.
Because they will repeat it at the worst possible time. 😫👎

Sorry Steve. Couldn’t resist 😊

Lol ! I agree wholeheartedly.
However, the people I gave those fillets to said they were really good. Said there weren't any bones in them and they had a great flavor. 🤠👍

That’s pretty cool Steve, very few of our black bears are tan or blonde but I hear are pretty common out west. Only ever saw one that wasn’t totally black here in Pa.

Yep, saw one of each yesterday.
1 was black as coal and the brown one I took pics of.

Hey Saw, I just got back from East fork carson river. Went up at 4am tuesday and nobody around. It seems they don't open the resort till around 10am. Fished all my normal areas with a Panther Martin no bites. Went to the resort to get some nite crawlers because the water was real high and fast and dirty, maybe half foot visibility. Not looking promising at this point. Phil the owner of the resort turned me on to a lure that was working prior. So I bought a couple of the smallest Outcaster slammer series lure and went to campsite #3 and caught 3 fish quickly. I was shot with the conditions. Than went to campsite #7 and started the bite slowed. So I hooked a nite crawler and first cast hooked a nice 5lb, 23in rainbow on my ultralite 6lb test. Pretty scary in those conditions. I still can't believe I landed that fish. Today the water actually looked like it rose a couple inches. No bites today on the east or west river. Good luck Saw.

Well guys, I only caught 1 pretty little Brown bout 11 inches long out of the West Fork Carson. Was the ONLY bite I got all day.
The East Fork was too high from snow melt and was very dirty. I never even got a bite there, and I tried bout a dozen different holes. But most of the holes were even too high and swift to fish.
I did take some pics of the river and some pics of the canyon.
I only hiked down to maybe 3 different holes in the canyon, but all were too high.
Gives you a look at some of the country I hike through to fish the East Fork though.
Alot of the water pics look like the water is kinda calm ,BUT, that water was movin. Way too fast to try to fish most of the places I usually catch fish. AND, that water was COLD !
