If you cast a 1/32 oz yellow twister tail jig on 4 lb test fluorocarbon in front of a carp, you will catch it. I landed a 24 lb common carp in the Delaware River by doing that but it took half an hour to reel it in.

After bow fishing guides discovered that they can shoot carp here in NJ at night by using bright lights to attract them to the surface of the Delaware River, my carping success declined significantly. When I posted a photo of 4 bow fishermen with their limit 100 dead carp on the catch and release website https://www.carp.com, I got banned from that website.

Went carping in the 68 degree Millstone River on the north shore in Plainsboro, NJ, this evening on a cool, cloudy day with a light south wind. Threw out corn 🌽 for chum, then caught and released a 16” channel catfish with canned whole kernel corn on 12 lb test line. Saw an adult bald eagle 🦅 chasing an osprey. A few carp were jumping. Lots of weeds are in the river. Only saw two fishermen.
