In Oregon this week and we did some hiking. Went to the Tillamook campground. A little rainy, but with a view we had, along with the relaxing sound of the river, we didn’t even notice it. Enjoy the pictures.

You did leave a beautiful area. Grandkids have been out here about 3 years. As you know the pictures are nice, but it doesn’t do it justice to the environment.

I miss the salmon, White sturgen & snow covered Mt's .... My daughter is still there in Oregon City but now shes comes to Ga. to see me every so often , glad you're having a good time & you picked a great area to hike .If you get the chance try the Salmon River trail on Mt. Hood

Live here in Salem, Oregon (Capital City). Spend a lot of my time in the Tillamook area, both fishing hunting and just relaxing and enjoying. I've been to that specific campground more than once. Dad moved us to Oregon from California in 1975 and I've been in love with it ever since. There's no way in hell you'll ever get me out of the beautiful rainforests of the Pacific Northwest. The Roosevelt elk, the blacktail deer, the black bear and all the other wildlife we have is almost incomparable, not to include the incredible fishing.

My son would agree with you, he hikes and camps when ever he can. I guess there are certain times of the year when you enter your name in a lottery for open camping sites. He has not been picked yet put he keeps trying.

Aaahh..... my state and home for the past forty years, beautiful, bountiful Oregon.
Like Papabear65 says....never gonna live elsewhere.
Living amongst 120' cedars and Ponderosa pines, the Rogue River about 100yards away across the road (but ~460' DOWN !, unfortunately...so I have to drive a whole 10-12 minutes to access the river and the 10 mile long Lost Creek Lake that IS the Rogue River.)
A fox that strolls through the area regularly, a hoot owl at night, elk tracks in the snow in my back yard a month ago....this is my heaven.
Thanks for sharing the pics Matt. That IS what alot of Oregon looks like, but oh so much more. With our high desert, mountains, and our Pacific coast, we kinda have it all.

As a long ago governor of Oregon, Tom McCall always said........"Come visit us sometime to see and experience our great state !...........and then go home, okay ?" ......lol !
